Recycle One is a unit that builds and develops a solution system that affects all actors in the value chain of the circular economy – one connection, multiple platforms. We research, develop and deploy solutions to most of the existing problems of the recycling industry in Vietnam. With a vision to 2030, Recycle One platform becomes an effective Domestic Waste Management tool and a trusted address for all transactions in the recycling industry. In Vietnam, on average, every day emits more than 64,000 tons of domestic waste, only about 10% of which is collected and recycled, the rest is going to landfills, backfill or leak into the natural environment.
The total volume of scrap allowed to be imported into Vietnam is about 3.5 million tons in 2016 and 7.9 million tons in 2017. On May 13, 2019, the Government issued Decree No. 40/2019/ND -CP amends some regulations to control this more closely in the exporting country, before they are brought into Vietnam.
Recycling activities in Vietnam are fragmented, spontaneous and backward. With 443/466 delegates approving (accounting for 91.91%), on the afternoon of November 17, 2020, the National Assembly officially passed the Law on Environmental Protection (amended). Vietnam's national strategic goal is clearly defined by many different solutions, with a vision to 2030, the amount of domestic waste treated by landfill method is less than 20%.
Over the past 30 years, the communication to raise awareness about waste in general and the Separation of waste at source in particular has been continuously promoted by the government and stakeholders and has taken many strong actions. This creates a good awareness platform in the community, especially in megacities (such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi). However, due to many objective reasons as well as the infrastructure system has not been able to transform to meet.
